What is a Hoomle homepage?
A Hoomle home page is a simple web page that belongs to the person who created it. It has an integrated Google seach box at the top of the page and can contain up to 24 links to other websites. The owner of the Hoomle page can enter these links upon creation. S/he can also upload an image to use as background of the page. The format and content of the Hoomle page can be edited by the owner anytime. A Hoomle page is intended to be used as home page of your web browser, so that it appears automatically every time you open your browser.
Why do I need a Hoomle homepage?
A Hoomle page is a means to personalize your web browser and internet surfing experience. Each time you open your web browser, your favorite image will be displayed together with the links to your favorite websites.
As your Hoomle page is accessible from any computer, you will be able to have access to all your favorite links wherever you go. You only have to remember your username to find your Hoomle page: http://www.hoomle.com/pages/username.php
Who can get a Hoomle homepage?
Anybody can create his/her own Hoomle page. Creating a Hoomle page is extremely simple, takes only a couple of minutes and is completely free.
How many Hoomle homepages can I get?
In principle you can create as many Hoomle pages as you want and even link from one to the other. However, a Hoomle page is intended to be used as your browser's home page and therefore should be visited frequently. Pages that are not visited on a regular basis may be deleted automatically.

Wallpapers such as those you find at wallpapers.org are very well suited to make a beautifull Hoomle page. However, self-made family photos are also very suitable.
Which format should the background image have?
To upload an image to our server it must be a gif, png or jpg/jpeg file. Its dimensions must be maximum 2000 pixels wide and 2000 pixels high. The file should be less than 0.5 MB or 500 kB. Files that do not comply with these specifications will not get uploaded. You will have to reformat them.
These format restrictions are in place in order to ensure that your Hoomle page downloads fast. Verifying the format of your image can be done easily by hovering over the file icon with your mouse cursor in Windows Explorer or by using the free photo editor IrfanView.
How can I change the format of my image?
With any good photo editing program you should be able to reformat your background image appropriately. IrfanView is a very popular and free photo editing program that is used by millions of people. It allows you to cut images in pieces, resize their dimensions, compress their file size, and save them in different file formats. Can I change my Hoomle homepage once it is created?
Yes, as long as you remember your password, you will be able to edit your Hoomle page and change your favorite links, background image and colors. All you have to do is going to your Hoomle page and click on "edit this page" in the right upper corner of the page. Don't forget your password!
Why I cannot see the changes I've made to my Hoomle page?
Hold the SHIFT key down, then click the RELOAD button 
of your browser, to ensure that you're looking at the most recent version of your Hoomle page. This technique forces your browser to retrieve the most current version from the internet instead of redisplaying an out-of-date page saved in the cache on your computer's hard disk. If this doesn't work, try pressing the F5 key while holding down the CTRL key.
If neither of these work, read advanced techniques in wikipedia to bypass your browser's cache. Do not disable the cache of your browser permanently as this will slow down your surfing experience a lot.
I don't remember my password. What now?
Unfortunately there is no way to retrieve a lost password. If you want to edit your Hoomle page and you don't remember your password, you will have to create a new Hoomle page starting from the old one by choosing another username.
Can I place text on my Hoomle page instead of an image?
While you are not really able to write text on your Hoomle page, apart from the labels of your favorite links, you can of course upload a background image that contains text. You can easily make an image with text by using a word processor or presentation program (e.g. MS Word or PowerPoint) and pressing the "Print Screen" button of your keyboard. Then you can simple paste the screenshot into your photo editing program (e.g. IrfanView) to edit and format it before uploading it to our server. This technique can be used for example to turn your Hoomle page into an online business card.
How to make my Hoomle page the homepage of my browser?

Who can access my Hoomle homepage?
